Story
We did it, from the beginning when we struggled running for 60 seconds and feeling perhaps we had bitten off more than we could chew, through dedicated training, even through storms caira and Dennis, on Saturday the townhouse barstool to 5k team reached our goal!
In January following an over indulgent festive period, four fiftyish, fattish, townhouse regulars chatting their usual Friday night bar nonsense found their conversation take an unexpected turn and somehow end up discussing the merits of taking up running, and so the town house barstool to 5k challenge began! The aim was to build up to our first 5k park run in april.
Together, three times a week the townhouse athletics team, Tony "the guru" Bradshaw, Mark "the wallflower" Gautrey, myles"the vegan" Prendergast, Andrew "the judge" James started the programme, huffing puffing and cursing (mainly directed at Tony!)
Our aim at the beginning was to set up a collection for PACT the Petersfield food bank when we completed our first 5k park run. Although the park run is regrettably not possible, on Saturday 25th of April we shall be doing our 5k run, socially distancing of course. Now more than ever the local food banks need our support. Please help us help them and make our hard work worthwhile
Regards
