Story

First of all Noah is amazing.

He has various disabilities that are challenging for him to manage and cope with on a daily basis. Though most days he gets through with a smile and infectious laugh.

One of his challenges is that he's non verbal. This has been a big challenge to overcome, as not being understood can turn into frustration though this has gradually changed. A few years ago, we came across a communication system called PODD (pragmatic organisation dynamic display) via a friend. We borrowed an old communication book they had been using and within a year he was able to tell us what he wanted to do, how he was feeling, what he thought about something etc. It changed our lives as a family; he was able to communicate.

We paid a fantastic person to make him a personalised book but we are at a place now where we want to be able to create new boards for him, add words and phrases to his current one so he can adapt to topics covered at school and develop his communication vocabulary. The money raised would go towards purchasing PODD software along with Boardmaker to make this possible.

We change how we speak, it would be great if he could do the same.

Any money raised over what is needed will be donated to 'Wheels for Words' who want to help other children who use AAC (augmentative and alternative communication).
