Story

Siobhan Mather is the youngest of three children, the daughter of my cousin Sarah and her husband Anthony. On 1st July 2017, just 2 months after her 2nd birthday, Siobhan became lethargic and was taken to her GP. After being referred to Barnet General Hospital, it was discovered she had a tumour. She was transferred to Great Ormond Street where she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare child cancer. Neuroblastoma is a very rare cancer and only 100 children per year are diagnosed in the U.K.

Siobhan is currently undergoing treatment at the amazing GOSH and is inspiring everyone on a daily basis with her tremendous courage. Sadly high risk Neuroblastoma is a disease with high relapse rates and relapse Neuroblastoma has low survival rates. There is no standard protocol for relapse Neuroblastoma meaning that clinical trials are the only option available to children fighting this horrendous disease. Unfortunatley clinical trials are rarely funded by the NHS so families often have to seek treatment in the USA, where a number of successful trials have taken place, the cost however is in the region of £220,000.

Siobhan‘s family and friends have made a fantastic effort with fundraising so far - 10k runs, charity football matches and benefit dances with live music and auctions to name but a few.

So I thought it was my turn! Siobhan’s mum, uncles and grandparents were a huge part of my childhood. I have such happy memories of holidays we spent together that I want to help raise as much money as I can to help #teamsiobhan!

So I, Tracey McKenna, chatterbox, motormouth etc etc will on the 13th & 14th December 2017 be completely silent for 48 hours to raise money for this little cutie!

This is a plea to anyone who has ever wished me to shut up or pipe down, your moment (or 48 hours) is here, enjoy it...... but please give generously for this beautiful brave little girl!
