will be running the Baker Hughes 10k on May the 20th in Memory of our very special friend Kathleen Ritchie. Kathleen and I started Fraserburgh Jog Scotland together back in August 2011 after deciding we needed to get fit, along the way we made so many friends we kept one another motivated during the time we ran. We did the Baker Hughes 10k a few times, Loch ness 10k and the Brg Broch to Gamrie as a relay team. Last February Kathleen was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer she sadly passed on the 6th of February this year. Before she passed I asked he which run she enjoyed best to which she replied "Baker Hughes". I said to her that I would like to run it again for her to which she was delighted. I got in touch with our Jogging buddies to see if they would like to join me to which they replied "yes". On my next visit to see Kathleen I asked where she would like the money raised to go to, She had spoken to her Consultant Dr Gillian Price at the Oncology clinic at Aberdeen Hospital to suggest an area or equipment relating to the clinic or Oncology ward as Kathleen wanted to keep monies local. Sadly Kathleen passed before her next appointment . Kathleen's Hubby Kenny got back in touch with Dr Price, she suggested putting the money we raise to Aberdeen Lung Cancer Group they use monies for local and national research and projects. People who knew Kathleen knew how much she did for the community always helping out at charity and local events she did so much for other people. She was One in a Million who is greatly missed.
