Story

How many of us choose to spend our winter or summer holidays visiting the beautiful island of Lanzarote? How many of us see the vast colonies of gorgeous cats, surviving on scraps provided by cat loving tourists who do what they can for a week or two, then go home hoping that another tourist might take care of their favourites once theyve gone ? Well, meet Freddy Leon, who stayed. And is giving all of his time and more to as many cats as you can imagine. If you've visited Playa Blanca you'll see feeding stations providing vital food and water for the furries. He's working with the authorities and vets making sure that a successful neutering programme is in place, his work is amazing and a lifeline for the cats there and he's widening his geographic reach supported by volunteers who often are tourists helping out as they holiday. I'm sending this plea to anyone who cares. Make a donation, however small. In return for your pledges, i will walk 100,000 steps, measured by my fitbit in a week. Every step and every penny will count.
