Story

Hi my name's Tracy and I have 2 chronic illnesses, secondary progressive MS (multiple sclerosis) and stage 3 lipoedema.

I have had lipoedema for probably 25 years but after much struggling with the NHS have finally got a formal diagnosis. My MS was diagnosed in 1999 . Unfortunately due to the nature of the beast I was forced to give up my career in the legal profession and after a rollercoaster ride of 19 years I find myself now needing daily care and help in order to carry out normal every day tasks. After much intervention from adult social services and NHS services I find myself needing to seek adaptations in my bathroom. A disabled facilities grant has been sought and we have already raised what we can towards the project and am now asking for extra support, in whatever manner and however small, to reach the amount required. I have been given 3 weeks to make this target otherwise the dfg will be closed .

I have never asked for help like this before and have found this not to be an easy thing to do, however in this circumstance I have been left with little choice. I have tried to be upbeat throughout the years but losing the ability to do simple personal tasks is taking its toll on me. I would be grateful if anyone could assist me in reaching this target and helping me to maintain a modicum of dignity.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story
