Story
My hope and vision is to develop a unique Hugi Hub Play and Exploration Family Centre. I have worked in children's services with children and families with special educational needs and disabilities for over 20 years and have a true understanding of the challenges that are faced. I would like to provide a safe and comfortable space to help children, young people and families to curiously explore with wonder to realise their true potential. The centre would be small and within a community in Sheffield as a start. The centre would take the approach of 'Reggio Emilia' in Italy and 'Hygge' from Denmark. The Reggio Emilia Approach inspiring approach to early childhood education which values the child as strong, capable and resilient; rich with wonder and knowledge. The Hygge Approach is the Danish approach to life that focuses on enjoying every minute, relaxation, comfort, friendship and living in the moment. A combination of both in a small environment with no more than 15 children at any one time would provide a much needed play and exploration space for children and families.
