Story

Tracy Smith is based in Walsall and runs Tracy's Cats Kitty along with some dedicated volunteers. Their mission is to match rescued cats and kittens with loving forever homes. Cats and kittens come to her either from vet referrals, owners who can't look after kittens after their cats have had litters, strays found and even cats and kittens just dumped in random places. Tracy dedicates the vast majority of her free time to looking after the many cats and kittens that come into her care, in many cases nursing them to full health from the brink of death. In addition to the time this takes, it also costs a lot of money for Tracy and her team to continue their work. Vets bills are always outstanding as many of the cats require vet checks and treatment, and before re-homing a cat she always ensures that they are flea and worm treated, fully vaccinated and chipped. Add to this the mounting costs of food, toys, cat litter etc, and you can begin to imagine the challenge for this small charity who rely on charitable donations and fundraising to be able to continue to save the many furry lives they do, which in turn brings joy to the many families that give a home to Tracy and Co's temporary patients.

I am taking part in the Stafford Half Marathon on Sunday 18th March 2018. I'm no stranger to running having completed a number of Half Marathons and the London Marathon twice and I will be attempting to break my personal best of 1:45:33. I have raised money for a number of human charities and this time I have chosen to support Tracy's Cats Kitty. I have seen first hand the work that Tracy and her team do and would love to be able to raise enough money to make a difference to their operation to give them scope to save many more cats and kittens. As well as vets bills and food, she is also trying to raise money to be able to build outdoor insulated pens which would enable her to save and care for more cats.

Whether you know Tracy's charity, or have a soft spot for animals in general, please give what you can so that these ladies can carry on saving these small lives and bringing joy to the families she places the cats with.

Follow Tracy's Cats Kitty to see the cats currently looking for homes and all the work this great little charity does.
