Trail Kids was founded in July 2017 when it was noted that there are very few opportunities for junior school age children to get in to running and events.

In a world where our younger generation are spending most of their time indoors on screens, and where childhood obesity and diabetes is on the rise, it is more important now than ever to find exciting new ways of getting our children active and outdoors.

Trail kids meet every weekend to run 2 mile trails around the beautiful Cornish coastpaths and trails. We run/jog/walk as a parent and child group, and all abilites from all backgrounds are included.

Trail kids is growing in popularity, and now has over 100 children who take part at different times. These children have found a love of running and physical outdoor activity that they never had before they started with the group.

They have gained a sense of belonging, and formed new friendships and social skills. They are more aware of their health and wellbeing, and also the wellbeng of the environment we live in.

But with Cornwall being a deprived area trail kids must remain affordable so as ALL children can access it.

On top of the weekly trail runs we have a desire to host 2 fun runs a year, so as the children get to experience friendly competition and motivation to achieve. We have put on 2 fun runs so far, but these are not cheap to host, and we rely on sponsorship and donations to put these events on.
