I've raised £2000 to help a local community cause - Trees for Spondon.

We had a successful first planting season at Trees for Spondon, with 1300+ saplings planted across four locations in in the village. We’re already starting to plan for winter 2021/2022!
In 2020, we also unfortunately had to deal with a spate of vandalism, which left two of our planting areas and many saplings damaged. In response, we’d like to make sure that these, and any future planting areas, are less appealing to potential mischief!
We have found that copses that already contain slightly larger, well established trees are not targeted as often. Trees for Spondon are now aiming to raise £2000, for the sole purpose of purchasing 20 larger, British native trees – along with suitable posts and guards.
These trees will be used in the centre of some of the existing areas of new plantation, as well as in the centre of new areas to be planted on 21/22. We hope these larger trees will provide instant aesthetic impact, attract wildlife quicker, help the copses look more established and ultimately act as a deterrent to would be vandals.
Over the Spring/Summer of 2021, T4S will be consulting with the public ready for our next season of tree planting, as well as scouting out ideal planting locations! You can find out more information about our group and plans on our website.
Thank you for any donation you are able to spare!
