I've raised £2700 to get Solar Power at Treesleeper Camp

Treesleeper Camp, located in Tsintsabis, Namibia, is a community-owned and administered campsite of the Hei//Omn San (Bushmen). Tsintsabis is currently home to some 5000 inhabitants, of which 85% are San people. The camp has successfully accomplished the aims and objectives it was founded for, including the creation of job opportunities, training the San to be 'cultural guides' and to up-lift the living standards through empowerment and employment. In addition, Treesleeper is pivotal in raising awareness of the San cultural heritage.
We are raising funds for a new solar powered energy system as well as a functional water tank. Treesleeper used to be completely dependent on solar power, but rain and age have damaged the parts completely (including battery, inverter, regulator). The current water tank is leaking due its old age (13 years!).
Treesleeper doesn't currently have the financial resources for such a large investment, hence we are reaching out to you!
Through your generosity, you will help us get electricity (and consequentially we will be able to have internet connection and a working telephone to take bookings) and function better as a campsite. All proceeds of the campsite flow back into the community, so you will genuinely be helping a community-based tourism project.
Our estimation of the costs for both electricity and the water tank (including purchasing and labour costs):
Water tank: N$ 15,500 (± US $1,175 or €985)
Solar parts: inverter, regulator etc: N$ 18,000 (± US $1,400 or €1170)
5% fee of JustGiving: N$ 1675 (± US $125 or €105)
As a token of appreciation we can offer a few gifts for various donations (just make sure to write your name with the donation and keep a copy of the transaction):
€25: A free bush walk
€50: A free bush walk and a Cultural Village Tour
€100: 1 free night of accommodation (camping), including a scrumptious breakfast
€200: 2 free nights of accommodation (camping), including scrumptious breakfasts
€500: 2 free nights of accommodation (camping), including scrumptious breakfasts and free participation in our activities: bush walk, cultural village tour, and a traditional dance performance
THANK YOU so much in advance, every little bit helps!
