    Story

To support UNICEF we are planning a Extreme Motorcycle challenge in 2019. We are planning to be riding from the Sanlam UK Head office to the South African Head Office. That's Bristol to Cape town over 9000 miles.

We will be spending the rest of 2018 arranging the expedition and fundraising for the event scheduled for a leave/start date of June 2019.

The route is subject to change to include acquisition if visas and safe border crossings.

( This route includes current conflict zones )

The proposed route is to leave the UK from Lands End via the Channel Tunnel and head through France to Spain and through to Gibraltar. Ferry crossing to Morocco and either via Algeria or Mauritania and Mali. From Niger through to Nigeria and then Cameroon. Safety dependent either the Republic of the Congo DRC through to Angola then Namibia and finally to South Africa.

The only parts of the journey not completed by bike will be some 60 miles via the channel tunnel and the ferry over the Strait of Gibraltar.

It is estimated that the total journey will take just over three weeks to complete not including any major breakdowns or issues but including stops along the way to UNICEF projects.

The Bikes will be carrying everything needed for the juration of the expedition except for food and water that will be procured along the way at the regular check points and stops.

This is a mostly unsupported expedition with minimal support making this an extreme challenge.

A website and Travel Blog will be set up to follow the progress in real time via GPS and regular twitter updates of the journey and stops for the supporting the charities along the way. A YouTube channel set up to tell the story of the trek - The why, The how and who is supporting us on this journey.

A GoFund me page has been created for charitable donations.
