I've raised £750 to improve the outcomes and life chances of looked after children in care, supporting The Association of Barnsley Foster Carers amazing work.

By climbing Mt Toubkal "The Roof of the North' achieving a hight of 4167m - 13,671ft, located in the Atlas Mountains it is one of the highest peaks in North Africa. This is an epic climb of Mt Toubkal, made harder by making the accent in winter during early 2023.
But none of this can be made possible without funding. The Association of Barnsley foster carers was established in 1975. The association is made up of active foster carers who have been approved by Barnsley council.
Often children in care have not had the same life chances and experiences that other children have had. The funds raised will go towards providing educational and fun activities for our children and young people around Barnsley one of the most deprived areas in England. Activities we put on included annual Halloween and Christmas Parties, trip to the Pantomime, Paint a Pot and Bowling. Arranging trips to FlamingoLand and Go karting, plus educational visits. This is particularly beneficial as these activities mean they can meet other children and young people who are in similar situations to themselves; it gives the children and young people a sense of community spirit and wellbeing, boosts their self esteem and confidence and helps them to thrive and move forward in life.
In these difficult times it is more important than ever that the most vulnerable children in society that may not have had the best start in life are given the best opportunity to thrive and develop. So we are asking for your support to continue to provide activities and events that the children will enjoy.
