Story
Andy Hobson & Matt Neill are attempting to walk the length of the Trent & Mersey Canal, 93.5 miles, over 4 days between 12Apr22 - 15Apr22. That's almost 4 marathons in 4 days! They will start at Preston Brook (Runcorn) and follow the canal through Cheshire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire, to finish in Aston-on-Trent (Derby). Just to make it a bit harder we will be camping each night! Phil Hall is helping us organise and take on this challenge.
We are raising for money for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) and Pride Park FC's U10 & U11 girls teams. Any sponsorship will be very much appreciated by us and these organisations. We would really like sponsorship to be equal across the two. They have their own JustGiving page and we would be really grateful if you could split your donation equally across the two, or donate to whichever has received least sponsorship.
CRY: Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions.
PRIDE PARK FC U10 & U11 GIRLS TEAMS: in addition to footballing skills, these girls are really enjoying being part of a team - training and playing matches together. It is developing their overall confidence, commitment, perseverance. Your sponsorship will help the teams fund kit, equipment, pitch time, competitions etc.
