I've raised £5500 to be able to buy defibrillators in memory of my Dad ❤ for the Rec (public use) home of Braintree Youth FC & Gt Bradfords FC + many more.

Tragically on Sunday 2nd May 2021 our lives changed forever. My wonderful, kind hearted Dad (Trev Harrod) had enjoyed a lovely meal with my mum and their best friends that afternoon planning on things they were going to do when lockdown had lifted only my dad never made it out of the restaurant that day. He collapsed and suffered a heart attack, completely out of the blue. The amazing staff at the restaurant along with some diners came quick to aid in CPR before the paramedics and air ambulance arrived to take over. Sadly, with everyone's best efforts that afternoon it wasn't meant to be. After an hour of trying everything possible my beautiful dad had passed at the scene. This has left us as a family completely devastated and hard to come to terms with. There are simply not enough words to show the gratitude of the staff at Fowlers Farm, Braintree, Essex did on that day and the days to follow, they have dedicated a section of the garden at the restaurant in his memory to hold him close, which has given us such comfort.
Passion is to help save lives in the future.
As a man who loved football and was club president to a local football club, (GBFC) donations will help buy a unit for this club but also for the Rec, where his grandson plays for Braintree Youth FC, he would enjoy watching weekly. We will reach out to other clubs/public areas in the community who are in need of an AED Unit. Let's hope it's never needed but how comforting to know it's there.
We are holding a celebration of his life by way of a football match on July 10th where we will be raising funds there also plus we will be auctioning off some football merchandise kindly donated by Arsenal Women FC.
Anyone of us could sadly need the use of a defibrillator in the future. To be able to provide life saving equipment to the community will turn something negative in to a positive for me and my family. Thank you for taking the time to read this page and any donations would be gratefully recieved
