    Story

World Champion Tommy Pickering and superstar Nick Speed have challenged novice anglers Trevor Price and Andrew Settle to a pair's fishing match at Alders Farm Fishery, Trevor's home ground, and we thought it would be a good idea to put the challenge to a good cause.

We will use the challenge to raise funds for a Defibrillator to be housed at Alders Farm Fishery to be used for anglers and local people using the fishery. A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest. This high energy shock is called defibrillation, and it's an essential part in trying to save the life of someone who’s in cardiac arrest.

Should we reach our target and have any extra funds we will donate the excess to South Central Air Ambulance Service more details of which can be found using this link: https://www.scas.nhs.uk/our-services/air-ambulance/

A massive thankyou to everyone who has contributed, on here, on Facebook, and in person at the Fishery. Collectively we've achieved our goals and raised more than enough to purchase the Defibrillator and make a healthy donation to the Air Ambulance. I'm going to close this JustGiving page and will post an update to it shortly, once the final amount has been totted up. Many thanks everyone, Regards Trev

On behalf of everyone involved in our challenge to raise funds for a defibrillator to be stationed at Alders Farm Fishery MK, thank you for all your generous donations received to date. My intention is to have the defibrillator situated at the main gates so it’s accessible to everyone 24 hours a day seven days a week. I have seen first hand how valuable these machines can be in aiding to save lives , your generosity is a massive step in doing just that. Thank you Trev

I've had first hand experience of using a de-fib and know they can save lives. That first hour following cardiac arrest is so important if effective cpr can be admistered. A very worthy cause.
