Story

In the week beginning 5th July 2021, I have set the challenge to complete seven olympic distance triathlons in seven days. I have set this challenge to raise money for two charities that are close to me - Alzheimer Scotland https://www.alzscot.org and Ross Sutherland Rugby Club https://www.rosssutherlandrugby.com . Both of these charities do a significant amount for my local community and rely heavily on fundraising.

I was inspired to fundraise for Alzheimer Scotland due to conditions faced by some of my close family members. The support that they offer not only to those living with dementia, but also to their families and carers, is second-to-none. In recent times we have seen a number of former athletes raising awareness of dementia. I aim to support them in raising awareness and some much needed funds to help those in need.

Rugby forms a large part of my life, having been an active member of Ross Sutherland Rugby Club for 20 years. The money raised will go towards supporting our community development team so that we can continue working with our schools and community groups to make sure that no child misses out on the physical and mental benefits of being involved in the game.

All seven triathlons shall be completed across Ross & Sutherland in the Highlands of Scotland and shall include a mixture of loch/sea swimming, road biking and road/trail running. Having never attempted a swimming, cycling or running race before.... why not combine all three?! Swimming and cycling are not my forte, so wish me luck!
