I've raised £20000 to donate between Macmillan and The Basing Ward, Basingstoke Hospital who are the specialist cancer treatment ward in North Hampshire

In December 2016 we became parents to our beautiful daughter Alba so in May 2017 decided to go on our first family holiday in Norfolk. During the week Anna started to feel unwell. A couple of weeks passed until one evening Anna was in so much pain and with a visibly swollen liver we ended up in Basingstoke A&E. After a few days of tests and scans Anna was diagnosed with bowel cancer which we later found out had spread to her liver and lungs.
Anna is now recieving chemotherapy to control the spread of the cancer whilst continuing to be such an amazing mummy and role model to Alba.
We have been overwhelmed by all the support we have received over the past couple of months so we wanted to give something back so all the amazing work can continue.
I was sat with a group of friends when someone mentioned the Fan Dance. This is a 24km race carrying 35lbs and your food and water. It takes place in January and takes you over Pen y Fan which is the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons. It then became apparent that you could complete this route 3 times over two days so decided this was a great way to raise some money. So here I am today, along with Adam, Karl and Georgia, Jack, Lucy, Luke V & D, Dan, Seth, Tim and Grace, Mark, the Rickards, Robbie, Alex and Ash signed up to running 72km carrying 35lbs in the Trident Fan Dance raising money for two worthy causes.

With the help of the guys at Crossfit Aldermaston Anna and me will also being taking part in a 24hour 'wodathon' in October along with the rest of the members. This will involve us completing a workout every hour for 24hours. Should be a nice warm up for whats ahead in January!
Anna is being treated at The Basing Unit, Basingstoke Hospital who have been superb in helping and treating Anna and giving firstly her all the support she needs but also support to Alba and me.
Macmillan have also been extremely helpful in providing information on everything you could imagine. From the side effects of chemotherapy and giving ideas on how to counter these side effects through diet to exercise and just being there if you needed a chat.
