I've raised £1000 to Help Transform Lives Through Sport

Roop, a super-hero son, loving husband and my amazing brother started RoopFit, with the sole purpose of transforming lives through sport.
He wanted to inspire people who had inadvertently “settled” into inactivity, to take on sporting challenges. He had a big passion for Triathlon, having completed over 20 Triathlons, including the toughest Ironman distances.
Inspired by Roop, we are raising funds to support people on their triathlon journey! Funds will enable trainee triathletes to have access to:
• Coaching – ensuring appropriate advice and encouragement
• Group Training Sessions – a good way to become part of the wider community
• Equipment – making the sport more accessible
• Race days – to fulfil interim and ultimate goals
This project has the support of British Triathlon, the national triathlon governing body.
What have we done so far?
We have encouraged 65 people to participate in their first ever triathlon, the Banana Triathlon at Dorney Lake (2012 Olympics venue).
Our participants come from all walks of life and range from 8 to 65 years old!
Some have already overcome huge challenges and life-long fears through this process.
Activities organised to support this initially-nervous team included:
• Swimming and cycling practice at the Olympics’ swimming pool and Velopark
• Open water swimming at Shepperton Lake
• Park runs
• Coaching by a Level 2 British Triathlon coach (present at all sessions)
What next?
With your support we would love to reach more people, organise more sessions, supported by additional coaches.
Roop believed in inspiring a passion for fitness and wellbeing.
Together, we will continue his legacy.
