What is crowdfunding?

Story
So i have just came across a 1955 trinity workboat that needs loads of work.. it needs a new onboard engine and wood replaced and repainted and furnishings.
I am wishing to start a group of volunteers to help rebuild this boat and will decide to use it as a community project.
