Hello, I'm Weronika and I'm a sixth form student from Leicestershire.
Since I was a little girl, I've always wanted to find my way studying Eastern Asian languages and cultures. I plan on doing it as my university course as well - I plan on doing Japanese Studies with Anthropology with a year abroad, however the competition for language courses is unbelievably huge.
I do what I can so I'll be able to actually pursue my dreams - to work as language teacher (English, Polish, or German) in countries all around the world to maybe be able to help kids who also try to follow their dreams of experiencing different cultures and languages.
To do what I've always wanted to do I studied Korean all by myself, and I did work a lot hard in my Mandarin Chinese lessons to score as high as I could, and I did it! I managed to get 99% from the exam. And when the school offered the trip to China, I was unbelievably happy, however, the cost of it made me feel horrible as I knew I wouldn't be able to afford it.
Trip to China would really benefit me educationally, as I wouldn't also see the country that I've always wanted to see, but also there are many enriching activities that would not only help me to experience culture but language as well. It would help me to develop further, and mainly... it would make me stand out from the crowd when applying to university.
