Story

I'm trying to help my mam get a new prosthetic leg, because she's had two from the NHS which have both failed her.

In April 2016 my mam had to have 3/4 of her leg amputated because of the horrible infection, necrotising fasciitis. Two days after she went into hospital with the infection, she lost her leg, and my dad also died on the same day. She spent months in hospital recovering from the ordeal she went through, and she had to restart her life from scratch, including moving out of the flat she lived in with my dad, because obviously she was now unable to walk.

It is now over a year since my mam came out of hospital, and the first prosthetic leg she received from the NHS, ended up not stopping on her stump, and it was far to heavy for her to put on, on her own. The second prosthetic leg she received, was far too heavy also, and it was too big! So instead of my mam waiting around for another leg, incase it fails, she's asked me to set up a fundraising page so she can go private and get a better, more appropriate leg for her needs, and hopefully she can get up and finally start walking again! Because that's all she wants!
