    Story

    WHO -

Troon Water Sports Centre Committee is a small team of like-minded individuals with a drive and determination to enhance Troon‘s Community beach and waterfront facilities. Troon Water Sports Centre is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC047691, registered August 2017.

    WHY -

Troon is an iconic town on the Ayrshire coast blessed with some of the most beautiful beaches and a micro-climate that makes it one of the best places for non motorised water sports. Infact, it is currently voted by RED BULL as the 4th best place in the UK for Kite Surfing.

However, there are very limited facilities that enable both the local community and tourists to enjoyably capitalise on the water sports opportunities the town naturally provides.

    WHAT -

It is our mission to finally provide facilities encompassing a main community hub near Port Ranald Drive and a satellite unit near South Beach Car Park. The community will benefit from warm and sheltered changing and shower facilities, entertainment space, equipment and boat storage and a safe slipway for launch and recovery. Ultimately we want to provide an opportunity for those who may not normally have access to sports such as kayaking, rowing, dinghy sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, and Stand Up Paddling Boarding - all activities that are proven to build confidence and self belief.

    YOUR SUPPORT -

Mainstream funding can be extremely difficult to obtain especially with the significant economic impact of COVID-19. We fully appreciate that times are tough right now, but we have also learned that having access to the outdoors and outdoor exercise has significantly improved people's mental well being during lockdown. Therefore any support, no matter how large or small, would be greatly appreciated and will take us closer to completing our goals for the community.

    Thank you.

I learned to kitesurf around there. Living down south nowadays, but will definitely come back to visit soon. Good luck with the centre!
