Woking Foodbank
Here we are again and we can't believe another year has passed.
CAN YOU HELP??????
BROOKWOOD VILLAGE CHRISTMAS FOODBANK APPEAL
What a very strange year it has been with Covid19, being in lockdown and then not in lockdown. Its very strange times as we all adjust to what is the current “new normal”.
Woking Lighthouse has now reopened it doors so service users can revisit the Foodbank in person, but the numbers of service users have increased over the last year due to the pandemic.
This year’s Christmas campaign will commence on 29th October and will finish on 5th December. If you can help in any way with non-perishable items/a cash donation or indeed a donation via our Justgiving page https://justgiving.com/crowdfunding/trudi-fletcher-1 that would be amazing. The cash may be used to purchase non-perishables or indeed put towards paying the rent on the Foodbank’s new premises in Lansbury Estate. We set up the justgiving page last year and it was a great success as we found ourselves less able to visit the shops.
If you would like to provide a food parcel, please attach a label with your name and address so we can thank you personally. Drop off points are currently Brookwood Club and also Bakers Dozen/Post Office during working hours, both within the village. If you would like to be a drop off point too please do let us know and we can get the word out.
If you are a local company and would like to get involved please do let us know. I will be undertaking regular Radio interviews with Radio Woking again based at Winston Churchill School so I am more than happy to promote your business through all variations of social media throughout the campaign.
There are various ways to get in touch:
Email trudifletcher@rocketmail.com or indeed leave a message at one of my drop off points if you would like us to collect your parcel. As this is being typed, we are dusting off the sleigh in anticipation of collecting all those heavy food parcels.
The website for Woking Foodbank is https://woking.foodbank.org.uk
Thank you for your help and for thinking of others, Trudi & Darren
