I've raised £5000 to help us supply our veterinary clinic for the dogs of the homeless and vulnerable!

In 2014, Ruby Shorrock, then a veterinary student at the University of Glasgow, formed the founding committee of The Trusty Paws Clinic.
Ruby became concerned about the homeless and their pets in Glasgow after discovering there were no hostels which allowed dogs, or any accessible veterinary care for them. Taking inspiration from a similar charity at Nottingham vet school, Ruby and her peers soon had the first clinic up and running, with the London branch following soon after!
In January 2017, we realised Liverpool was facing a similar problem to Glasgow, so we began to explore the possibility of opening our own clinic. After many phone calls and emails, we are now on our way to running our first clinic this winter!
They are organised in partnership with a local charity, Care for the Paw and y are run once a month out of our drop-in centre. All treatment is carried out by vet students, under the supervision of a qualified vet. This not only provides an amazing learning opportunity but also helps raise awareness of homeless hounds with the newest members of the profession. We encourage a friendly and informal environment at our clinics, this helps both the dogs and owners to feel more comfortable. It’s incredible seeing the bond between them, and it’s a wonderful job ensuring the health of the dogs.
However, this comes at a cost! We have a huge list of essentials that we require prior to our first clinic such as bandages, stethoscopes and medicines.
Therefore, we are organising a Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge for the University of Liverpool Vet School to take part in on Sunday 8th October 2017. This gruelling 23 mile hike will take us to an altitude of 2388 feet and it's not for the faint hearted!
We would be grateful for any money that you can donate and please tell family and friends about our trip and who we are so that we can get The Trusty Paws name out there.
Thanks,
