Story

Tuckwells Three Peaks Challenge – Supporting Cancer Support Suffolk & YANA

This June, a team from Tuckwells will take on the National Three Peaks Challenge — climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon within 24 hours.

We’re doing it to raise money for two charities that have made a real difference to people close to us: Cancer Support Suffolk and YANA (You Are Not Alone).

Two years ago, our friend and colleague Rhys Taylor was diagnosed with melanoma. Since then, he’s been undergoing treatment and is thankfully responding really well.

During that time, Cancer Support Suffolk stepped in where it truly matters. They connected Rhys with other young people going through cancer, creating a network of support that goes far beyond the clinical side of treatment. Because cancer isn’t just something you treat — it’s something you live through. The mental strain, the uncertainty, the isolation — having people who understand that makes a huge difference. Their support has been invaluable not just to Rhys, but to many others facing the same reality.

What makes this challenge even more meaningful is that Rhys himself will be taking part. To go from diagnosis and treatment to standing at the foot of these mountains and choosing to take them on says everything. It brings a different perspective to what “a challenge” really is.

We’re also raising money for YANA (You Are Not Alone), a charity focused on mental health within agriculture and rural communities. In our industry, challenges are often faced quietly. Long hours, isolation, pressure — it can build without people speaking up. YANA provides confidential support and a lifeline to those who need it, helping people through some of the toughest moments. It’s a cause that runs deep in our world and affects far more people than is often visible.

The Three Peaks Challenge is demanding — 24 hours, three mountains, very little rest. But it’s nothing compared to what many people go through every day.

We’re doing this to raise awareness, to support these charities, and to give something back.

If you’re able to donate, we’d really appreciate it. Every contribution helps make a difference.
