Story
I am currently in the middle of a PhD in Archaeology at The University of Central Lancashire, UK. Since leaving my undergraduate degree, i have successfully completed a MA in Archaeology from the University of Manchester whilst working 70+ hours a week in 2 jobs to fund myself. I was keeping this up during my first 2 years of my PhD, but unfortunatly, i work for a national charity and i have been made redundant. My Fees are £1,600 per year, and I am unable to keep up the levels of stress with working a full time job and doing my PhD so i am only able to take a low income wage along side studying. I am asking for help to continue my studies for another year, and invest in my future. I cannot get financial support from my family and i have exhausted ALL options for funding my PhD, including from my University as it is such a small department it is allocated no funds for postgraduate students. If i do not reach my goal unfortunatly i will have to drop out of university and look at other avenues :(
A bit about my studies, i am a gender and idenity theorist, and i specialise in The British Bronze Age. My current PhD is concerned with how wearable material culture, or jewellery, can be studied individually to learn about the idenities of the people in the bronze age in the UK. I will be using archaeology and also (for the first time in academic history) fashion theories! The final goal is to be a archaeology lecturer, with the aim of moving to Canada to pass on my knowledge of theory and also social studies.
I am eternally greatful for any support anybody wishes to offer, you will get a personal mention in my published thesis no matter what the donation. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. x
