Story
At 4.30am local time on 6th February, Southeast Turkey and Syria were hit by a powerful devastating earthquake. A disaster of tis nature had not been seen for over 1500 years in Turkey, destroying innumerable lives, causing 25,000 casualties and destroying 25,000 buildings home to 13.5m people, including a very large Syrian refugee population. The number of casualties as estimated by some at 2-3x what's being accounted for at the moment.
Help is on the way with 14 countries sofar having sent 4,200 search and rescue teams. They are looking for bodies under the rubble in subzero temperatures and most roads, some airports are closed due to heavy snow and damage.
