I've raised £3164.64 to rebuild part of our outdoor play area, adding activity stations to help our children develop physically, & protecting the area from erosion.

Our ethos is: W.I.L.D - Wonder, Inspiration, Love of Learning, Discovery
Children need the freedom and time to play. Play is not a luxury. Play is a necessity" - Kay Redfield Jamison
Currently the pre-school outdoor area has a grass/mud bank with an inbuilt slide. While once fit for purpose, we've now realised that water running down the bank, both from the rain and from our mud kitchen, is eroding it and forcing mud onto the playground, clogging up the drains and getting mud EVERYWHERE! It also provides very limited opportunity for our children to develop their core and upper-body strength.
We aim to fund a makeover, in order to both protect the bank from erosion (and the playground and drains from mud) and add in activity stations in order to help the children develop their gross motor skills and build their core, upper- and lower-body strength.
We will replace the slope with steps reinforced with railway sleepers, with our ever-popular mud kitchen at the top (we would NEVER get rid of that!) and various activities on each step. The slide would also stay where it is, but would have a rope attached so that children could pull themselves up the large steps.
We have a quote from a professional company. The work needed is the removal of the current slope, to have it re-built inside a wire mesh, have the railway sleepers installed and then the area covered in hard-wearing turf. Activity stations will then be added to each step.
Please help us help the children of our community, whether they be your children/grandchildren or anyone who has been, or will be part of our community Pre-school.
Every penny counts and is very gratefully accepted. Thank you.
