Story

The Airborne March is in memory of the 1750 plus British and Polish soldiers who lost their lives in the Battle of Arnhem in September 1944 and who are buried in the War Cemetery at Oosterbeek. The Airborne March takes place on the first Saturday in September each year. The first Airborne March was held in 1947. 2018 will be the 72nd Anniversary of the Airborne March. Further information on the Airborne March is available from: http://www.airbornewandeltocht.nl/en/airborne/44-background_airborne_march

Thames Valley Wing of the Air Training Corps will be taking 80 cadets and Cadet Forces Adult Volunteers by coach to Arnhem were they will learn about the battle and then participate in the Airborne March. The cost in 2017 was over £15000 and by crowdfunding we seek to reduce the cost to cadets to ensure they can afford to particpate in this commemorative March and community visits which links our communities, generations and nationalities together.
