Story
As many of you know our twins were born at 29weeks and 5 days. They spent 5 weeks and 2 days in NICU at PCH. The care both the girls and us as parents received was incredible. We didn't realise just how much money it cost to look after 2 babies in the NICU unit for the length of time our girls were in untill we asked. In total for both our girls it cost the hospital around £48,000 now I know we won't ever be able to repay them that amount of money, but we are hoping we can raise a nice amount to buy them something they really need on the NICU ward. There are about 30 beds on the ward. An incubator is around £35000, a jaundice light is £3000 even the breast pumps are over £1000. The cost of their consumables is very high too, I.e nappies milk ect. We understand money that is donated to the hospital is shared between each unit however NICU does not seem to get as much as they need to cover everything. We have decided to do a quiz night with a raffle to try and raise as much as we can to give back and say a huge thank you to each nurse/dr/support worker that helped not only Kiara and Olivia but also Myself, Simon and their big sister Kaydie as well.
* Quiz night will be 13th may 2018 *
