The buzzing City of York has a growing population of over 200,000, a vibrant arts & music scene, multiple theatres, many exciting and innovative businesses, a huge range of festivals & events… …plus so much more!!

Unlike other local radio stations, Two Rivers Radio will be a community based broadcaster that actively encourages participation from those that live and work in York. We will be dedicated to creating content for the people of this city, buy the people of this city.

Along with creating original radio programmes for and by local people; Two Rivers Radio will be a hub for the community, providing education and training opportunities for young, disadvantaged and marginalised people, a platform for local organisations and groups to have their voice heard as well as being an exciting project that will bring York in line with most major towns and cities in the country.

Two Rivers Radio will soon be a registered CIC and working with a number of other community groups in the City. The project will not be a profit-making venture and any monies raised will be invested into the success of the project.

Within a year (ideally much less time) Two Rivers Radio will be broadcasting fresh content every week. Content produced by and for the people of this city.

The first thing we are doing to make this happen we will be running a number of small, one-off projects such as broadcasting live on FM at Staxtonbury Festival this summer. This will be a fantastic opportunity to recruit and train our first wave of volunteers as well as getting the public familiar with Two Rivers Radio.
