I've raised £4200 to get us to Tanzania for our dental volunteering trip!

We need your help!
Beaufort Dental Care Nurses, Elise and Taylor are taking a once in a lifetime trip to Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania. This is an amazing opportunity for us in which we will be spending two weeks living in Dar Es Salaam, providing urgent dental care to adults and children who are in severe dental pain. Our two weeks of volunteering will find us helping people in the community and visiting children in orphanages to provide highly valued dental care and some oral health advice.
We have both chosen to do this trip as Dar Es Salaam is a third world country and unfortunately don't have access to the dental treatments that we can offer here in the UK. As well as this, the dental treatments that are offered in the country are often not performed as well either due to a lack of resources. The lack of resources often means that adults and children cannot have fillings or root canal treatment so end up having to have teeth extracted. A lot of the time, people result to trying to extract their own teeth without any anaesthetic because they are suffering from that much pain, and that's why we are so eager to help! This trip will also give us an insight into what it is like delivering dental care in their conditions and how difficult providing treatment can be.
This trip with Work the World is completely self funded and so we will be so grateful for any donations or sponsorships to help get us there. We will also be holding fundraising events at the practice for people to get involved in, in the near future. Thank you for reading about our trip and what we will be getting up to during our time there.
