Story
We at TWS rely solely on donations to care for our rescues as we receive no government funding. In a country with no animal rights and no organisations such as the RSPCA, street animals in Pakistan lead a miserable existence with no one to turn to should they be abused, injured, sick, or starving. Street dogs are considered unclean, and dangerous and are subjected to dog culling to reduce the population. We take in these animals, treat them, and try to find them homes which is not an easy task, as sadly Pakistan is a breed-obsessed society. Those too vulnerable to survive on the streets have a forever home with us at the sanctuary.
We are running this fundraiser to cover the shelter's everyday expenses. We have had some serious cases, of animals that would otherwise surely perish on the cruel streets. Currently, we have rescues with fractured legs, severe mange cases, rescues undergoing chemotherapy, and spay and neuter surgeries all these have put huge pressure on our veterinary clinic.
Our shelter works on a 24-hour basis, 7 days a week. We need help to pay staff wages, fuel costs, and utility bills. Staff are an absolute must as it is they who take care of the rescues and permanent residents.
The cost-of-living crisis has meant that donations are at an all-time low and yet due to inflation our utility bills are high, and finding money to cover food and treatment is proving to be difficult. We are so very grateful to all the kind and wonderful people who donate towards our work month after month, we are truly grateful for every penny received as no amount is too small.
