Story
The Yoga for Life Project is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC). We provide a specialist therapeutic approach to yoga designed to help support health and well-being in the community and in the workplace. Our specialist yoga teachers and yoga therapists have devised a range of classes with the aim of improving the physical and mental health of the general population.
We know from experience and research that yoga can transform health and well-being and we are now working with social prescribers, gps, specialist health clinics and housing estates to work with those who need it most.
Through yoga, the individual can feel empowered to take control of their physical and mental health, escaping the stresses of modern life. Yoga can also enhance a person’s sense of well-being and instil a strong dynamic of personal empowerment.
We at The Yoga for Life Project believe that yoga ought to be made available to a wider cross-section of society, so that more people can experience its potentially transformative effects on health and well-being.
Since 2020 The Yoga for Life Project has raised money to offer 4 free classes a week to people living with Long Covid, ME and CFS through our specialist Wellbeing Programme and to bring people to our Caring for Cancer classes whether person living with Cancer or Carer also for free where necessary. We have also brought yoga to people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds or who are debilitated by mental health. Over 1000 students have been supported by the donations raised. Our objective now is to raise £25,000 which will afford for more people from diverse communities and perhaps who have not experienced the health benefits of yoga to see how yoga can support and empower their lives. Please consider giving generously to this invaluable programme.
