Story

Hi my name is Tyra Litten and I am 15 years old and i am in the process of starting my own charity but I can only register one at 16. Therefore i want to try and have events and this JustGiving page so I can have a head start for when i turn 16.

My charity is aimed at helping young people with Learning and Additional Needs (LAN) and a significant number of Woodfield pupils have language and communication difficulties, and an increasing number present with a broader complexity of needs in my brother’s school, Woodfield. Woodfield school is in Merstham and has only 150 students and helps children learn life skills. It is an amazing school with the most fantastic teachers and I am determined to help the school as they have helped us so much with my brother James. James has Dravet Syndrome and is 16 years old but has the mentality of a 4 year old and even though despite his mental disability, he is developing and flourishing because of his amazing school.

The main reason I want to raise money for Woodfield school is because of the students that attend the school and on a personal level I have met most of them and have been touched by there happiness and friendliness towards everyone despite their different disabilities.

The main priorities that the school need are new benches, more school trips and a new mini bus. I would love to be able to help them get enough money to have these facilities and hopefully with this charity I will be able to.
