Hello, our names are Amanda Skevington and Samantha Walker. We’re the co-principals of UC Dance, an East Midlands dance school with branches in Burton, Derby and Etwall.

Now, let us introduce you to our UCD competition team dancers who will be competing for Team England at the Dance World Cup in July 2023.

We received the fantastic news that we had qualified, in December 2022, ranking in the country’s top five in our dance grouping to secure our place with Team England, and we are determined to give this team the opportunity to fulfill their dreams and compete for England at the highest international level!

Our motto here at UC Dance is to ‘inspire, achieve and dream big’ and our dancers live these values daily with their talent, dedication and sheer passion for dance. They are shining ambassadors for both the school and their local community, showing what can be achieved with hard work and support from the people who believe in you.

So, today we’re asking for your support to enable our 18 dancers, aged between 14 and 18, to be able to compete at the Dance World Cup. Each member of our UC Dance competition team is required to fund their own squad uniform, travel, accommodation and competition entry fee, as well as their chaperone’s costs.

Our costs are expected to total approximately £26,550 so in order to make the experience of competing as accessible as possible we are asking for your sponsorship to get each dancer on Team UCD to the Dance World Cup.

Every gift no matter how small or large will make a huge difference and help us to reach this fundraising goal.

£10 will cover the cost of one dancer’s transport to the airport.

£25 will cover the cost of one dancer’s in-flight cabin bag for the outward and return flights.

£50 will cover the costs of one dancer’s in-flight hold luggage for the outward and return flights.

£140 will cover the cost of one dancer’s basic Team England squad uniform.

£500 will cover one dancer’s air fare.

£750 will cover one dancer’s accommodation in Braga, Portugal.
