Story
As a practice we are struggling with the reports of loss of animal life. Over 500 million animals have been taken by the smoke and flames! That’s more than Half a BILLION! Many of you have likely already donated to one of the various charities doing incredible work responding to the situation but they also really need medical supplies.
We have been informed by the RSPCA that the country’s veterinary supplies are extremely low on equipment needed to treat burns and other fire/smoke related injuries. The number of animals requiring treatment is so great that they are running out of equipment FAST! Hundreds of Vets and nurses from international countries have been deployed as volunteers to help cope with physical demand but they need the tools to treat those in need. Those of us who cannot get to Australia can do more to help at home and this is the step we are taking:
We are raising money to purchase the much needed supplies from our suppliers here in the UK to send to the charities and rescue centres across Australia who are continually caring for the ever increasing number of pets and wildlife that have been caught up in this catastrophe.
The practice staff have donated to the cause but the more support we have from our incredible clients base and friends, the more we can send.
We need to act quickly as the RSPCA will be sending out a bulk shipment next week as supplies are so urgently needed. We must place our order on Tuesday 14th in order for it to meet the deadline.
£5 can provide an animal with burns cream to soothe their wounds
£5-10 can provide and animal with a suitable dressing to aid their recovery.
£5-10 can provide pain relief for an animal for a few days making them more comfortable.
£10 can provide an animal with a day of rehydration solution which also helps treat shock.
Whatever you are able to give is greatly appreciated as every little bit helps.
Thank you!
