We want to ensure that the most precarious among us have the security to join action for a fairer university. We need funds to do that - to be able to offset the cost of giving up work for 14 days - which is what this epic strike means.

At UAL, we’ve voted to join colleagues at Universities across the UK who are campaigning for an end to the scandal of casualisation, for decent contracts, fair workloads, a realistic pay rise and a real commitment to ending Intersectional pay gaps throughout our sector.

We teach at some of the most prestigious arts and design colleges in the UK, yet we feel undervalued, overworked and - too often - precarious.

This fight is for equality above all - we want everyone to be able to exercise their right to strike and to be heard when they speak out.

That takes courage and it takes finance: we set up this crowdfunding page to build a resource which will protect the most vulnerable -whatever their situation.

We need to stand together at this crossroad point.
