Story
Unhealthy eating habits and negative food thoughts are a very present casualty of the effects of ballet on some people (both in the professional and non-professional world). The UEA Ballet committee are very passionate about flaunting our leotards on campus, as we think it will be a great opportunity to gain more courage and strength in body confidence, as well as open the conversation with fellow course mates and friends.
BEAT is an incredible charity which focuses on helping anyone struggling with eating disorders or any eating-related issues. Eating Matters is a Norfolk based charity, comprising of an amazing team of trained counsellors and therapists, ready to help anyone in difficulty. Since their counselling fees are very cheap, thus more accessible, they rely heavily on donations. As eating disorders are an issue quite prevalent in the ballet world, we feel these two charities are very close to us, and so half the money we raise will be going to Eating Matters, and the other half to BEAT .
