Story

UEA University of Sanctuary initiative members will be walking/running a combined distance of over 150km on the last weekend of Refugee week, 20th & 21st June 2020, to raise money to help local sanctuary seekers stay connected during the pandemic.

The Covid-19 pandemic has isolated and displaced us all. However, for Sanctuary Seekers the effects of the current pandemic are even more drastically felt, due to a lack of digital resources, phone credit and data.

Local Norfolk organisations supporting Sanctuary Seekers have done an incredible job to adapt their services, by moving support sessions and classes online, but these services can only be accessed if service users have the means to do so.

All donations raised will be put towards key items, such as mobile phones and phone credit.

Members feel passionately that Sanctuary Seekers have the right to remain connected, during a time when we have no choice but to be apart.

It would be absolutely wonderful if you could make a donation. All donations, no matter how big or small, will make a huge difference.

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

Kind regards

Claire, Dalyan, Dylan, Elizabeth, Enana, Enrique, Jake, Jumara, Leo, Lindah, Liz, Lola, Madi, Mirah, Paulina, Ryan, Sophie, Tara and Uli.

University of Sanctuary Members, plus our wonderful family members, who will also be joining us on the sponsored walk/run.
