Story

The Ukraine Humanitarian Hub (UHH) was set up following my visit to the Ukraine / Poland border at the end of March 2022. It became apparent that there was a great need for a centralised hub to support and coordinate all the amazing individuals and groups working so hard out there to help. The aim is to create a coordinated humanitarian effort from the UK & other European countries to Ukraine.

Not everyone can fly out to Poland, or host a Ukrainian family but so many people have asked how they can make a financial donation to help. So we have set up this page to do just that!

We are completely self funding, none of our personal expenses will come out of this fund. Your donation will go directly to the people who need it most, who have no other funding available to them. Whether that is providing them with safe transport, accommodation, flights, medical supplies, food and water, or generators.. it will all be used to help people in real time with the things they really need.

For more information and examples of how your money is helping please check out our Facebook page and Twitter, which we will keep updated.

THANK YOU for anything you can contribute, it will make a difference to someone at what is most likely the worst time of their life.

UPDATE 2023

The Ukraine Humanitarian Hub begins this new year with the same commitment as ever before, an unwavering determination to do all we can to help ease the suffering of the people of Ukraine.

So far we have evacuated over 350 vulnerable women and children safely out of Ukraine and moved a vast quantity of aid including generators into Ukraine, right to where it is most needed.

This is, of course, in addition to our core aim which is to be a focal point of support for volunteers and a space to share best practices and advice.

The current challenges are immense and this is how we will be focusing help moving into 2023:

1 – Provide support to orphanages across Ukraine. These facilities care for children and babies who not only have no family of their own to look after them, but also (may) have varying emotional, developmental and physical needs, including autism, and other disabilities. Some of these orphanages are providing palliative care in these awful circumstances.

We want to ensure they have the aid they need to provide care and generators to provide back-up power / light / heating / ability to charge when outages occur – which is frequent.

2 – Fund / provide / deliver direct to end users, generators to create central warm spaces which can be used by groups of people or multiple families. This will include schools, medical facilities and other vital community spaces.

3 – Support other volunteers groups and charities with logistics / delivery / accommodation / advice.

4 – Evacuating vulnerable people / families / accommodating where required and assisting with onward travel and visa applications.

5 - Donation and delivery of vehicles to other humanitarian groups Drs / Orphanages / social care to enable resources to reach those that might otherwise be cut-off from the care and support they need.

Please support us so we can carry on this vital work.

Thank you.. Nick
