I've raised £1000 to Fund our Expedition to Pack raft the Tagliamento River

The main goal of our expedition is to not use air travel. We will only use public transport, paddles and our own two feet on our journey. This concept of minimal impact travel to a destination has been developed by some of the outdoor climbing community and has been coined 'Ecopointing'. We were inspired to adopt this concept for our expedition. Although this increases the challenges of our journey, it is key to our vision of promoting sustainable and environmentally conscious travel and expeditions in the adventure and education sector.
The money you give will go to renting the pack-rafts, booking tickets, accommodation and food. Renting kit instead of buying new aligns with our vision of ecopointing and sustainability by reducing waste, minimizing resource consumption, and lowering our overall environmental impact. By reusing high-quality gear, we extend its lifespan, decrease demand for new production, and help protect the very rivers and landscapes we aim to enjoy.
For us, expeditionary skills in a changing world means doing everything we can during our expedition to reduce our carbon footprint and raise awareness about climate change. The example we set in planning and executing our expedition and what we teach in adventure education are vital to the future of our planet. We hope to inspire others to plan their adventures and expeditions from an ecological perspective. By documenting our journey we hope to show that expeditionary skills include being considerate to the impacts we have on our environment.
