Story
So many of us have been appalled by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and after noting the lack of UK Government response to the citizens fleeing the country for safety, and having friends in Ukraine, local Hampshire businessman, John Caulcutt put spoke to as many people as he could to ascertain what people actually needed.
In response, John and the community of Hunton, Hampshire created a project which sponsored and organised 10,000 Hygiene Kits to take to the Ukrainian/Polish border to deliver as personal gifts to those most in need. These kits contained; toothpaste & toothbrush, razor, shave cream, shampoo, soap and a comb. Further to the care packages, they collected 80,000 face masks and 5000 bottles of hand sanitiser to take with them.
They successfully hand delivered these care packages two weeks ago, travelling with more volunteers, including our Managing Director, Paul Biffin who drove one of our vans to the refugee centre in Medyka.
As a now collective charitable group, we have decided to make the trip again, on Friday 1st April 2022. The first trip was funded by the kind donations of the local community and business owners. Since this time, we have had a huge influx of offers to help from our customers, so we thought we would set up this page to make this as easy as possible.
All monies raised will go directly to the project and therefore the Ukrainian refugees. Due to rising fuel costs, transportation is one of the most expensive parts of the missions, with three vans driving there and back. Everyone driving there and going to help deliver the packages will still be donating their own time, but anything we can put towards the travel and material costs will be gratefully received by the project. It is highly likely that this next mission will not be our last, and we will keep all contributors updated on this.
We thank you in advance for your generosity, large or small - every penny counts.
