Story
I'm sure you've all been extremely saddened by the devastation caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. To see so many innocent families being separated at the border with nothing but the hope that they can one day return to the country they so passionately care about has really hit home.
Last week my wife (Jen) reached out to friends and family appealing for donations to help support the humanitarian crisis, and we’ve been completely overwhelmed by people's generosity. Since the appeal first went out, it’s been a constant stream of people arriving at the house with bags and bags full of the essential items. Unfortunately, the courier we had aligned to take the donations to the Ukrainian border has had to close shop due to the sheer volume of donations received. This has left us in a situation whereby we have bags and bags at our house, with no plan to get it to where it so desperately needs to be........therefore, I intend to drive there myself with navigation support provided by my Dad!
I’m still in the process of working through all the travel logistics; Van Hire, Fuel, Hotels, Entry Requirements & TAXES!!! etc, but whilst I do that, I wanted to reach out and see if you would be willing to support our journey by ensuring the donations we’ve received get to the people who need them most.
I'll be documenting our travel throughout, and I'll be providing a further update in the coming days with travel dates and confirmation of the Refugee Reception Point on the Polish boarder that we will be travelling to.
Any financial donations that exceed the cost of the journey will be donated to the Red Cross;
