We are trying to raise urgently needed funds to support the families of our friends and colleagues in Ukraine. We are a group of journalists from the UK, who have worked extensively with independent media organisations in Ukraine. The journalists we have worked with and their families are in serious danger. Many of them have been displaced by the invasion of the Russian forces. They desperately need food, water, shelter, warmth and transport. We are liaising with people on the ground who will ensure all of the donations go directly to those most in need.

All donations will be used to support directly the urgent needs of independent journalists and their immediate families. While millions of people in Ukraine are suffering, these journalists are in particular danger due to their work and their commitment to impartial, accurate reporting. These journalists belong to organisations with which members of our group have worked over several years. We know them personally.

Some may need to get themselves and/or their immediate families to safety, probably outside Ukraine. Others will wish to stay and carry on working. We envisage supporting their with needs such as: transport, shelter, warm clothing and food and water. As mentioned above, we are working with trusted people on the ground to ensure that all the funds go directly to those most in need.

We will be giving regular updates on where the funds have been used and how they have helped.
