I'm raising £1000 to create the first Ukrainian Children's Library in Birmingham

Story

On behalf of the Ukrainian community in Birmingham and the Ukrainian Supplementary School “Vodohrai”, I am raising £1,000 to help create the first Ukrainian Children’s Library in Birmingham.

In partnership with the Bosnia UK Network — an organisation that has actively supported the Ukrainian community in Birmingham since 2023 and helped establish the Ukrainian Supplementary School “Vodohrai” in 2024—we are excited to launch this important cultural and educational initiative.

Birmingham is now home to around 1,000 Ukrainians, including up to 300 children, whom were forced to leave their homeland following the full-scale war in 2022. Sadly, Ukrainian-language books in local libraries are extremely limited and cannot meet the educational and cultural needs of our young community members.

Our goal is to create a modern children’s library that will serve both the pupils of the Ukrainian School “Vodohrai” and the wider Ukrainian community in Birmingham.

Your support will help provide Ukrainian children with quality literature in their native language, nurturing their education, cultural identity, and love of reading.

💛💙 Together, we can make this library a reality. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to giving Ukrainian children in Birmingham a place to learn, grow, and feel at home.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to make a meaningful difference.
