I've raised £8000 to support the amazing people at Macmillan and St Barnabas Hospice, Lincoln in memory of John Coo.

We are raising money for Macmillan and St Barnabas Hospice, Lincoln. These charities provide amazing support to people. I believe we will all have experienced the outstanding support provided by these, and similar organisations throughout our lives, I certainly have.
My most recent experience is that of John Coo. John was sadly diagnosed with a brain tumour in April 2017. A family man, who lived life to the full; he was a fantastic work colleague and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
John never gave up through his difficult journey, he vowed he would return to work, which he did, twice, after initial treatment and again following subsequent treatment.
John regretfully lost his battle on Thursday 29 August at 1500 hours. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his amazing family and his beloved dog.
We will never forget John; the aim of this ride is to celebrate his amazing life, where he gave many years RAF Service to his country, followed by a very successful job with Leonardo.
A summary of the 522 mile, 5 day ride is as follows:
Stage 1 Friday 27 Sep - RAF Coningsby, Lincs to York (103 miles)
Stage 2 - Saturday 28 Sep - York to Morpeth (110 miles)
Stage 3 - Sunday 29 Sep - Morpeth to Edinburgh (110 miles)
Stage 4 - Mon 30 Sep - Edinburgh to Banchory (116 miles)
Stage 5 - Tuesday 1 Oct - Banchory to RAF Lossiemouth (83 miles)
The ride will be completed by Jack Russell and myself. Jack worked with John for many years and decided to join me at short notice, which is amazing and i am extremely grateful to have his support out on the road.
Over the last few weeks we have been encouraged by the amazing support and positive comments we have received, we are now extremely lucky to have friends of John riding the complete Stage 1 and 2 and many others who will be riding part of Stage 1 with us as we roll out of RAF Coningsby at 1000, Friday 27 September.
We are extremely fortunate that we now have a support car and driver, Carol Russell will be supporting us all the way, without this crucial support the ride would not be possible.
We are riding in our own time and funding accommodation, fuel and food ourselves, not one penny of the money raised is going towards costs.
if anyone would like to join us for 1 mile or a complete stage please let us know, we would appreciate your company.
Thanks in advance for your support
