Story

We love music, and we love helping the world through song. And the Edinburgh Fringe has always been where we could perform and give back more than anywhere else. Simply put, we wouldn’t want to do without it. So when COVID-19 came along and cancelled practically everything, we couldn’t sit and take it. We got in touch, formed the UKVAC, and found a way that we could still give back all together.

As it turned out, MusiCares had a similar idea. MusiCares has always been an ally to the music community. They provide preventative, recovery, and emergency assistance to music people in times of need, in the form of financial, medical, or even personal aid. And with the arrival of COVID-19, venues everywhere started closing; singing together was no longer allowed; audiences were forbidden from gathering – musicians and music professionals everywhere had their livelihoods put into grave danger. The music community needed all the help it could get. So MusiCares partnered with the Recording Academy to create a relief fund; and thus far, they’ve helped over 18,000 artists and other professionals who’ve been affected. But there’s much more work to be done.

As artists ourselves, we have unbounded respect for those in the music industry, performing or otherwise, and we’ve seen how hard these professionals work at what they do. We hope you’ll join us in our appreciation, and in giving back in this time of greatest need for them all.
