I've raised £750 to Umbrella Bradford - Help fund individuals who suffer from enduring mental health conditions in the Bradford/Airedale/Craven District.

According to the World Health Organisation 25% of the global population will suffer from a Mental Health Condition at some point in their lifetime. 66% of those individuals will not seek assistance, support or guideance from a medical profesisonal.
We aim to provide long term support to indiviudals whom have mental health conditions in the local community and working along side local and national providers to create a network to promote an overall wellbeing recovery plan and tackle the issues of social isolation which hampers long term recovery.
So what will my donation help with and why do you need it?
We aim to produce a monthly newsletter for our members who join our support peer network, this will cost approximately £1 copy to produce due to postage costs *We aim to email as many as possible and therefore reduce overheads to around £0.20 per copy* However a large repsentative of indivuduals whom have had long term mental health conditions for numerous years dont access the internet on a regular basis and therefore would require a paper copy to keep informed.
A lot of individuals find that creative ways to express themselves offer a large amount of pleasure in their recovery and aim to create artistic workshops in local community centres throughout the district, these cost on average £50/75 per session due to supply costs and room hire/insurance costs etc.
To help indivuduals have their voices heard we aim offer personalised and bespoke peer advocacy to help with employment issues. This can be to assist people getting back into work when they have been off long term with depression/anxiety. To prevent issues arising which would require someone to take time off work and to help promote a supportive workplace network working along side employers to aid in understanding of how mental health affects individuals and businesses as a whole, we also help employees and employers create a well being recovery action plan which can be used to monitor trends that affect them employee so that items can be addressed before they escliate into a larger concern for the employee/employer. Due to the involvment of this and the understanding required this is one of our more costly services but will be one of the most beneficial services to the people it is designed for.
